JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Starting from the spring term 2025, Högalidskolan is a separate school unit, Högalidskolan 4-9, with one principal and three assistant principals in leadership. Currently, Högalidskolan has just over 600 students distributed across different grade levels. Teachers are organized in work teams with responsibility for their respective grade levels. Collaboration takes place between work teams, with the school's local student welfare team and other school functions. As an assistant principal, you have both operational and personnel responsibility. Under the direction of the principal, you as assistant principal shall create conditions for pedagogical quality and for a good and health-promoting work environment. The work tasks are varied, but the focus is to work together with the principal and assistant principals to drive the school's pedagogical and organizational development work, based on the curriculum and education law. Your leadership is relational and you have confidence in your employees' commitment and willingness to take responsibility. You utilize and develop your employees' competence and engage your employees in the operations. You communicate our core values: Respect, Responsibility and Collaboration in Kiruna Municipality. Start: Fall term 2026. We apply a limited-term management agreement in combination with a permanent employment within the municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has pedagogical insight acquired through education and experience and is well familiar with the school's governing documents and modern working methods. We are looking for a pedagogical leader who can support and coach employees in a structured and patient manner toward the organization's goals and vision. You are inspiring, flexible, unpretentious and communicative in your leadership. The work also requires that you have very good collaboration skills and social competence. It is meritorious if you have principal training, previous experience in management or leadership, personnel responsibility, union cooperation and work environment work. Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
