The school is now in its fourth academic year with approximately 160 students studying in the Natural Sciences, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. About the Position The role of Assistant Principal at Amerikanska Gymnasiet in Halmstad is a qualified and development-focused leadership position. Together with the Principal, you form the school's operational leadership and have a central role in driving the organization forward—with the goal that every student and staff member reaches their full potential. You contribute to setting direction, creating structure, and ensuring quality in both teaching and organization. Your responsibilities include: Lead and develop systematic quality improvement work Monitor results, analyze goal achievement, and initiate improvement measures Create conditions for high teaching quality through active pedagogical leadership Ensure safety, a conducive study environment, and clear structures in accordance with our "Frames & Hugs" philosophy Work closely with students on matters related to academic progress, support measures, and individual cases Contribute to a sustainable organization through efficient planning and well-functioning administrative processes The role involves close and present pedagogical leadership where you combine strategic development work with responsibility for daily operations. The position also includes administrative tasks related to planning, follow-up, and structure. During the first academic year, the role will partially include administrative student counseling (SYV) related tasks. After that, the role will be shaped based on the organization's needs and your competencies, where teaching or other leadership assignments may be relevant. Staff management responsibilities may be part of the position, which includes responsibility for employee conversations, salary reviews, competency development, and creating engagement and participation within the team. As part of the leadership group, you participate in strategic decisions regarding the school's long-term development and contribute analysis, initiative, and a holistic perspective on matters relating to organization, culture, and pedagogy. Your Profile As a candidate, you hold a teaching license and have teaching experience, preferably at the gymnasium level. You also need previous experience working in a leadership position, preferably with staff responsibility, within educational operations. It is highly meritorious if you have experience with systematic quality improvement work and with developing student support services.
