Your Workplace The Laboratory Medicine Värmland operational area comprises four specialties: clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. The operational area's mission is to provide high-quality service through blood collection, blood operations, sample preparation and analysis, and production of quality-assured analysis results, diagnoses, and diagnostic support. Transfusion Medicine Karlstad has approximately 35 employees and is physically divided between two locations: GeBlod at Karolinen and the Blood Bank at Central Hospital. We offer you a responsible and exciting position in transfusion medicine with great opportunities for personal development and variety! Your Responsibilities At GeBlod, we receive blood, plasma, and platelet donors. We also component prepare blood and platelets for patients and produce plasma for pharmaceuticals. Work is primarily during daytime, with recurring evening shifts each week. The work team consists of both nurses and biomedical analysts. At the Blood Bank at Central Hospital, we operate 24/7 with only biomedical analysts working there. Several employees rotate between GeBlod and the Blood Bank at Central Hospital. Analyses performed at Central Hospital Karlstad include blood typing, antibody screening, and pretesting of blood components for planned and emergency transfusions. Reservation and dispensing of blood components and tissues to patients are performed, as well as advanced blood group serological investigations. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are seeking a licensed biomedical analyst with courses in laboratory medicine. Experience with independent work in transfusion medicine is a merit. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as collaboration skills, focus on quality, and flexibility. You are organized and always provide excellent service to customers and colleagues. You need good proficiency in Swedish in both spoken and written form. Due to the vacation period, the availability of contact persons may be limited. Interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis.
