Storumans Municipality is a geographically large municipality in Southern Lapland. Approximately 6,000 people live here, with just over half residing in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. WORK DUTIES Do you have a passion for working with people, inspiring them, and fostering their love of reading? Our team consists of 6 competent and dedicated professionals, each responsible for different work areas and media groups. Your duties will include responsibility for one of these areas, managing media acquisitions and the overall handling of our book collection and other media. We also work closely together as a team on program activities, school visits, visits from and information for adults, and organizing activities for children and adults, etc. The library is open one evening per week and every fourth Saturday; we work on a rotating schedule. The municipality has a main library in Storumans town with a branch in Tärnaby. Library services fall under the Committee for Leisure, Culture and Education (FKUN), and we maintain good collaboration with other departments within the committee's areas. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with an academic degree in Library and Information Science. A strong interest in literature promotion and language development work is essential. You have the ability to plan and structure your work independently. As a person, you are inspiring, communicative, and possess excellent teamwork skills. Greeting every visitor positively and providing them with excellent service comes naturally to you. We value your initiative and engagement in your work, and you approach tasks with curiosity and an investigative mindset. You actively contribute to positive developments in the library's future activities. Personal suitability will be given considerable weight. Salary form: Monthly salary.
