The Swedish Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for adolescents with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-school-age girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse problems, and self-harm concerns. Then the job as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the adolescents and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and providing support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the completion of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our procedures and help ensure that daily routines run smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, gratifying, and varied. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications for Treatment Educator To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our adolescents. As a person, you are confident in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with adolescents as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent B-class driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing At SiS, we value good collegial partnership. Qualifications for Treatment Assistant You must also have: Completed upper secondary education Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example work in psychiatry or in LSS care B-class driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Employment: The position is a night shift on a part-time basis.
