About Söderåsen After a period of closure, Söderåsen HVB in Mariestad is opening again. This gives you as an employee a unique opportunity to be part of rebuilding the operation and developing how we work together. Söderåsen is a residential care facility in central Mariestad for boys and girls aged 13–15. The young people who come here may have norm-breaking and acting-out behavior, difficulties with schooling and/or challenges in their relationships with family and others. The facility is located in a fully renovated school building from the turn of the last century and has 8 placements. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES What does the role involve? As a treatment coordinator, you conduct qualified treatment work based on the young people's implementation plans and on behalf of the social services. You are the primary contact person and are responsible for planning, implementing and following up on interventions as well as for documentation and quality development. You work closely with the young people in daily life and maintain contact with family members and other important actors such as school and healthcare. You also participate in meetings with social services. Work at Söderåsen is based on a milieu therapeutic approach, where secure adult relationships and a predictable structure create conditions for young people to grow and develop. We use motivational interviewing (MI), a low-affect approach and trauma-informed care (TIC). The goal is for young people to feel safe, seen and to acquire the tools they need to feel good and develop, both in their current situation and in the long term. The position includes regular external supervision and continuous training initiatives. The position is full-time with scheduled working hours that include evening and weekend work. No overnight shifts; scheduled to work 2 of 5 weekends. Introduction takes place during daytime. A probationary period may be applied. Start date by agreement. QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for someone with a university degree as a social worker, social pedagogue, social psychologist or other education that the employer considers equivalent of at least 180 higher education credits. You express yourself well in speech and writing. Experience in social work and knowledge of legislation such as the Social Services Act, Care of Young People Act and Compulsory Care Act are merits. You are confident, can remain calm in challenging situations and have the ability to build trusting relationships. In working with young people, you see possibilities and can convey hope. You have good ability to reflect on your work and collaborate well with others. Since travel is part of the work, a driver's license is required.
