Your Workplace The Children's Clinic is sometimes called the "Little Hospital" within the large hospital, which can be explained by the fact that our operations encompass most of healthcare's different specialties, where medicine, surgery, orthopedics, oncology, emergency care, and neonatal care are some examples. At the emergency department for children and adolescents in Karlstad, we care for children and young people up to 18 years of age. With the support of experienced colleagues, you will receive an individually tailored introduction to the workplace, as a good work environment and patient-safe care are of utmost importance to us. The Emergency Department for Children and Adolescents is open to the possibility of combining positions between units. The pediatric emergency unit operates 24/7 with working hours that include day, evening, and night shifts. The position is until August 31, 2027, with the possibility of potential extension. Your Work Tasks As a nurse, you will work in a team together with pediatric-specialized nursing assistants, pediatricians, surgeons, and orthopedists. Together, you will perform early assessments of children seeking emergency care. As a nurse, you will work independently using standardized procedures. Your tasks consist of prioritizing children based on medical need and performing individually tailored nursing and medical interventions. We always adapt care to what is best for the child and family. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for someone who wants to work with children and adolescents in need of emergency care and is a licensed pediatric nurse, or a licensed registered nurse with at least one to two years of experience in acute, inpatient, and/or pediatric care. We would like you to be skilled at building good relationships, communicative, positive, and enthusiastic about taking on new challenges. You enjoy work that varies in pace and level of care and thrive working as part of a team but can also work independently. You plan your work well and can make decisions based on the information you have. You have a heart for children and adolescents and their families. We look forward to you becoming our colleague!
