Maternal Health Care in southern Kalmar County offers a temporary position as a midwife with placement in Nybro/Emmaboda. Your role as a midwife is to contribute to good sexual and reproductive health through health promotion and prevention measures and risk identification, while minimizing risks and morbidity for women and children during pregnancy, childbirth, and the first period after delivery. Maternal Health Care services consist of pregnancy monitoring, contraceptive counseling, gynecological cervical screening, and youth activities. As a midwife in our organization, you work independently with continuous professional development and through personal meetings with many different types of people. You get to follow prospective parents over an extended period and support them through pregnancy and into parenthood. With us, you become part of the continuous development work that is integrated into our daily operations. We offer ongoing training and work in process groups where you can participate to develop and improve our work. Your working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline. This is a temporary position through December 2026 and is expected to be filled in September. About You We are looking for a licensed midwife who has a desire to work within maternal health care. It is an advantage if you have prescribing rights, if you have previously worked in maternal health care, and if you have experience with the record systems Cosmic and Obstetrix. It is desirable if you have a driver's license as you will travel between family centers. As a midwife, you are confident in your profession and accustomed to making and standing behind your own decisions. With colleagues, you discuss and solve issues together. You need to be independent in your work while also being able to work with multiple professional categories at the family center, such as doctors, nurses, social workers, nursing assistants, and educators. A pleasant and empathetic manner is one of the qualities we value highly. You are flexible in your approach and view change and development work as self-evident. We are a reasonably sized clinic which creates conditions for a family-like atmosphere. Maternal Health Care is part of the Women's Clinic and we work with preventive health work for health throughout life. Southern Maternal Health Care has its clinics at the 12 family centers located in eight municipalities in southern Kalmar County. This facilitates collaboration for our patients within the relevant services at family centers, child health care, open preschools, and preventive social services.
