Occupational Therapist, Temporary Position, Acute Care and Internal Medicine in Lund
Popis:
Make a difference. Every day. Are you drawn to a workplace where community, development, and work satisfaction are at the center? Do you have a genuine interest in collaboration and working closely with other professions? Then you could be our next colleague! Since one of our occupational therapists will be on parental leave, we are welcoming an occupational therapist for a one-year temporary position. The Acute Care and Internal Medicine department (VO) is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and operates in both Lund and Malmö, with its own rehabilitation unit staffed by 49 employees. Currently, 21 occupational therapists work here alongside physiotherapists and social workers. In Lund, we are nine driven occupational therapists working in a team together with physicians, physiotherapist, nurse, social worker, and nursing assistant. We staff the emergency department, two medical wards, the Clinical Education Ward (KUA), the Acute Ward (AVA), Sus Hospital at Home (SSH), and medical outpatient clinic/day care. We rotate within our operations in Lund, which provides the opportunity for breadth and variety over time through work in both outpatient and inpatient care as well as in the patient's home environment. With us, you will meet patients with various diagnoses and medical conditions. On the care ward, you primarily encounter elderly patients with multiple conditions, where the most common diagnoses are COPD, heart failure, infection, and cognitive impairment. In the emergency department, you meet patients of various ages with a need for activity/functional assessment to support the physician's decision regarding safe/secure discharge home or admission. Since the launch of SSH Lund in the fall of 2023, we have successfully worked to develop this new form of care in collaboration with municipalities in central Skåne. The occupational therapist participates in creating and adapting safe care and rehabilitation for patients in their own home environment. This includes, among other things, activity assessment and prescription/trial of assistive devices and adaptations of the home environment to facilitate the patient's daily life and promote independence. We are a continuously developing operation where the occupational therapist's expertise is valuable and in demand! 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES In your role as an occupational therapist, your work is characterized by personal responsibility, participation, and teamwork. Your duties include activity/functional assessment and interventions in consultation with the patient, both independently and in close collaboration with, for example, the physiotherapist. Together, you have important roles in the interprofessional team with a person-centered approach to provide the patient with the best possible care. The work also involves collaboration with the municipality and primary care to ensure good care continuity and safe discharge home for the patient. Additionally, you are interested in development work such as new approaches to acute hospital care in the home. We seek a partnership where each employee is active in their own learning and has a willingness to contribute to advancing the operations. Together, we work to continuously improve, and we value initiative and innovative thinking. We operate on the principle that employees are gradually given the opportunity to establish, broaden, and specialize their expertise within the various areas of our broad operations. You will work Monday to Friday during daytime hours and also work every seventh Saturday between 7:30 and 2:00 PM. For Saturday work, you receive a compensatory day off. As a new employee with us, we offer you individually tailored introduction to our operations and mentorship from an experienced colleague. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you if you are a licensed occupational therapist with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is required. Additionally, you must have a valid B-level driver's license. If you have previous experience working in acute care and/or home healthcare, that is considered a merit. We welcome both experienced and newly graduated therapists. Your personal qualities are very important for this position, and we seek someone with strong ability to collaborate, communicate, and promote a good work environment. To succeed in the role, you have good empathetic ability and can work both independently and as part of a team. You have a rehabilitation-oriented perspective and can plan and prioritize while having the ability to quickly adapt to the day's operational needs. It is important that you can collaborate with different professional disciplines and have a holistic perspective with the patient at the center. You are responsible, have a drive to develop both yourself and the operations. In this recruitment, we conduct continuous selection. Welcome to submit your application; we look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better as well as telling you more about our operations! Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: Start in October or by agreement. This position is for a one-year temporary assignment.
