About the Unit The Aircraft Maintenance Unit is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on our Gripen aircraft, as well as all maintenance equipment associated with the aircraft. We also handle daily flight operations including aircraft preparation and readiness maintenance. Our tasks are primarily directed nationally, but international assignments may also occur. The Aircraft Maintenance Unit consists of a unit command, the 11th and 12th Aircraft Maintenance Company, and the Aircraft Workshop. The Ammunition and Base Material Platoon is one of three platoons that constitute an aircraft maintenance company. The company's primary purpose is aircraft preparation, maintenance, and ammunition service for the JAS 39 Gripen flight system. Primary Responsibilities As an ammunition/base material platoon commander, you will lead and develop the ammunition and base material capability within the aircraft maintenance company. You will work with a mix of civilians, specialized officers, soldiers, and conscripts. Your tasks primarily involve planning, developing, and training your personnel, and together with fellow platoon commanders planning for and executing operations, exercises, and wartime organization development through long-term planning. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Completed officer or specialized officer training (OF 1/SO 6 or higher) Completed upper secondary school education Category B driver's license for manual transmission Personal Qualities The platoon commander position will require you to be collaborative with others. Strong ability for risk analysis and risk management is also of great importance within aircraft maintenance operations. Attentiveness in leadership toward the platoon is also a significant strength, as many employees bring considerable prior experience.
