The Office of Economics and Governance has a coordinating role and provides support to the entire municipality in matters of economics, planning, and follow-up. The area of responsibility includes budget, accounting, financing, investments, and financial administration, as well as procurement, contracting, administrative and case management, and local strategic matters. The office also coordinates operational planning, follow-up, statistics, quality and analysis, and drives the municipality's work for long-term sustainable societal development. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a controller at Sigtuna Municipality, you will be part of the unit for economic planning and follow-up at the Office of Economics and Governance. You will be part of a team with a total of 12 controllers. You report to the budget manager and may work both centrally with overall economic matters and with the municipality's Education Committee. To cover our current controller's parental leave, we are distributing tasks across several different roles and taking the opportunity to broaden competencies and experience among several employees. The advertised position can therefore be adapted to the needs that exist and what best matches the applicant's previous experience and competencies. The position may involve responsibility for economic follow-up of administrative offices and/or the municipality's activities within the Education Committee. You will work closely with the operations managers. In your role as controller, you work with both governance and support. You work independently and together with the operations, where you serve as the managers' advisor and sounding board on economic matters. The position is a fixed-term employment, a full-time temporary position for one year. Your main duties as a controller are: • budget and forecast work • economic follow-up • interim and annual financial statements • reporting • work with investigations and development projects • Your duties may also touch on the accounting area and involve some collaboration with the accounting unit. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Higher education with an economic focus • Several years of experience working independently as a controller • Ability to compile, analyze, and present data • Knowledge of and experience from municipal operations • Expert knowledge of economic matters within the education sector You are a relationship-building person who takes initiative in social situations and find it easy to make new contacts. You enjoy collaborating with others and work unpretentiously to find solutions that contribute to the common goal. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and have the ability to quickly identify challenges and find effective ways forward when problems arise. Employment form: Fixed-term employment.
