The mission of the Social Services Department is to meet people's need for security. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Due to changes in the new Social Services Act, we now need to expand our workforce. We are therefore seeking an engaged and competent case officer to investigate and process cases under the Social Services Act (SoL). In your role you work closely with several experienced case officers, which provides good opportunities for guidance, collegial support and joint problem-solving. As a case officer you investigate and process applications under SoL. You make decisions and follow up services according to IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus). You investigate matters such as home care services, short-term housing, special housing, etc. You will collaborate within the municipality as well as with other authorities and organizations. As a case officer you need to be structured, thorough and able to plan your work independently. You will participate in the unit's development work based on the new Social Services Act. Fixed-term employment: August 24, 2026 to December 31, 2027, with possibility of extension. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree from a social work program, social care program or other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent, which includes law with authority exercises. Experience in similar work is a merit. Knowledge of Finnish and Sami is desirable. You have a holistic approach to your work and the ability to get different parts to work together are important qualities, as are commitment and a development mindset. Understanding and respect for working in a politically governed organization is necessary for this assignment. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. A class B driver's license is required. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer.
