Komvux in Åre Municipality is a small operation centrally located in Järpen, with three teachers and approximately 60 students in the educational programs SFI, komvux at basic level, and komvux as adapted education. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES We are looking for a trained and certified teacher with competence in SVA (Swedish as a Second Language) who enjoys working in a smaller organization where flexibility, collaboration, and needs-driven instruction are central. In your role as a teacher, you will work together with the team to ensure quality in pedagogical work. Your work includes comprehensive responsibility for students' social and academic development. You take responsibility for systematically documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and following up on student learning. We are looking for someone who is curious and flexible and can meet various teaching needs in the organization. The role involves being relationship-building and having student learning development as your primary focus. You will alternate between teaching SVA at basic level and take responsibility for planning and delivering various orientation courses such as study techniques and digital literacy. The position is varied and requires you to be comfortable taking responsibility, planning, and implementing your own lesson designs and meeting students in many different contexts. You are expected to work closely with the principal, colleagues, the integration unit, and the employment services department to plan and organize teaching initiatives based on current needs in the municipality. You are also expected to assess and grade student knowledge. Examples of work tasks: • Teach SVA (Swedish as a Second Language) at basic level. • Plan and teach special orientation courses such as study techniques and digital literacy. • Support teaching in regular classrooms as needed. • Work with individual study plans and individual arrangements, act as a mentor/coach for absences, book individual meetings as needed, and adapt lesson designs. • Teaching in SFI and/or supporting existing SFI instruction as well as teaching in English, mathematics, and social studies at basic level may occur. • Lead needs-driven teaching groups in smaller formats. For example: evening classes, distance learning for students with good study habits who have difficulty studying during daytime due to work, at workplaces within the municipality, in smaller teaching groups in villages or adapted content such as language cafés during school hours, extra oral practice in small groups, digital tools, 10-15 min/day, reading and writing studio, physical activity, trying different sports or gym classes, workplace visits or similar. QUALIFICATIONS • Trained and certified teacher with SVA competence • Strong ability to build relationships and work solution-oriented • You can work independently, plan based on needs, and work closely with colleagues and the principal. Meritorious: • Experience with flexible instruction in varied environments. • Experience teaching workplace-adapted Swedish. • Experience teaching adult foreign-born students with low educational background.
