An Important Assignment Becoming a foster family is an opportunity to make a difference for children who need it most. There are several reasons why a child may need to live in a different home than their own. It could be due to parents' neglect, difficult circumstances such as violence or substance abuse, the child's own behavior, or the child being unaccompanied and arriving in Sweden without parents. There are different forms of foster care. When the foster family already has a relationship with the placed child, such as a relative or close friend, it is called a kinship care home. When a child is placed in foster care, the goal is to reunify the child with their parents as soon as the purpose of the placement is achieved. However, sometimes reunification is not best for the child. The length of time a child needs to stay in foster care varies from a single day to their entire childhood. We are looking for: - Secure adults who want to make a difference for a child - Homes that have both practical and emotional space to take care of a child - Both couples and single individuals Being a Foster Family Means: As a foster family, your task is to provide daily care, a secure environment, and a good upbringing for the child.
