The department also includes cross-municipal work for strategic premises provision as well as procurement and purchasing. We are now looking for an engaged and strategic unit manager who wants to lead and develop our finance team while contributing to Sjöbo Municipality's continued development. DUTIES As unit manager at the Department of Finance and Governance, you have a central role in the municipality's continued development of financial management, follow-up and operational support. You lead a team of five economists and are responsible for creating conditions for qualified, proactive and operations-focused financial support to the organization's managers and operations. The role combines strategic issues with close and operational leadership. You are part of both the Municipal Administration and Finance Department management groups and are an important collaboration partner to managers and leaders throughout the organization. If needed, you also serve as Deputy Finance Manager. Your main responsibilities Lead and develop the team: · Lead, coach and develop the unit's employees. · Build a cohesive, engaged and high-performing team. · Create collaboration and synergies within the team and between other units in the department and other departments. · Ensure a good working environment and long-term competence supply. Develop financial management and follow-up: · Have a key role in the municipality's budget, forecast and follow-up processes. · Ensure quality, structure and efficiency in follow-up work. · Develop processes, working methods and system tools for financial management. · Prepare analyses, reports and decision-making materials for management and political forums. · Identify risks, deviations and development opportunities. · Support the Finance Manager in strategic matters, investigations and decision-making processes. · Represent the Finance Department in various forums and contexts. QUALIFICATIONS You have an academic degree in economics or other education that the employer deems equivalent. In addition, you have several years of experience with qualified work in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and follow-up in a larger or complex organization. We would appreciate if you have experience from municipal activities or other politically governed organization, but this is not an absolute requirement. You have documented experience leading employees and developing teams, and you thrive in a role where you can combine leadership with both strategic and operational work. You have a good understanding of how economics can be used as a tool to develop operations and create value for the organization.
