The Streets/Parks unit is one of five divisions within the Community Development Administration in Tibro Municipality and is responsible for the municipality's parks, bathing areas, playgrounds, peri-urban nature, and larger green spaces. We work with the operation, maintenance, and development of Tibro's public environments and contribute to creating safe, well-maintained, and pleasant outdoor spaces for residents and visitors. The role of park worker suits you if you enjoy practical outdoor work and want to work with maintenance, upkeep, and development of the municipality's parks, green areas, plantings, and other public environments. We warmly welcome your application! 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a staff member in the Streets/Parks unit, you contribute to making everyday life easier for Tibro's residents. Our operations exist for the municipality's residents and visitors, and together we work to create public environments that are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Work as a park worker is practical and varied. You will work with operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the municipality's outdoor environments, for example: • Parks, green spaces, and grass areas • Flower beds, plantings, and other green environments • Playgrounds, meeting places, and bathing areas • Pedestrian and bicycle paths • Fencing, ground surfaces, and exterior maintenance of school and preschool grounds • Trees, shrubs, peri-urban nature, and green areas • Simple maintenance and construction work • Maintenance and simple upkeep of equipment, tools, and facilities • Machine operation and use of various tools and equipment Work tasks vary throughout the year depending on season, weather, and operational needs. During the growing season, work might involve planting, weeding, pruning, grass cutting, trimming, flower bed maintenance, and other park-related tasks. During other times of the year, work may also include leaf management, winter road maintenance, de-icing, simple maintenance, and other operational tasks within the unit's area of responsibility. You work on both planned initiatives and urgent measures. Work is conducted in close collaboration with colleagues and sometimes in dialogue with residents, businesses, associations, and other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with experience in practical work who enjoys working outdoors. This could be from park and green space maintenance, gardening, landscaping, property maintenance, agriculture, service work, or other practical activities. You don't need to have deep technical expertise or experience with all work tasks. What matters most is that you are practically minded, take responsibility, and are willing to learn new tasks. If you have experience with flower bed maintenance, plantings, green spaces, or other outdoor environments, we see that as a positive. Requirements • Driver's license category B • Basic computer skills • Experience with practical work • Interest in park, outdoor environment, and maintenance work Meritorious • Education or experience within parks, gardening, landscaping, property maintenance, agriculture, or similar • Experience with flower bed maintenance, plantings, and green spaces • Plant knowledge or interest in plants and green environments • Experience with machines and tools for park and outdoor work • Experience with exterior ground maintenance at schools, preschools, or public environments • Experience with simple maintenance or construction work • Education or experience with clearing saws, chainsaws, or road work • Knowledge of playground maintenance or playground inspection To thrive in this role, you need to be responsible, solution-oriented, and practically minded.
