We are now looking for a Business Economist for the finance function in Jokkmokk Municipality. The finance function in Jokkmokk Municipality is a central support function that works closely with operations and management. Here you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and contribute to a long-term sustainable economy. The position enables remote work to a large extent, with regular physical presence in Jokkmokk corresponding to approximately one week per month. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a Business Economist, you will provide qualified financial support to the municipality's operations and contribute to efficient financial management. The role is broad and varied and involves both strategic analytical work and operational tasks. You will work closely with department and function managers and be an important partner in their daily work. Your main responsibilities Budget, monitoring, and analysis • Prepare budget documentation and participate in the budget process • Conduct follow-ups and forecasts • Analyze financial results and deviations and suggest measures Support to operations • Be a sounding board for managers on financial issues • Explain financial relationships and results in a pedagogical way • Contribute to better decision-making materials and prioritizations • Present financial information at board meetings Participate in development and improvement • Conduct financial analyses and investigations • Participate in municipality-wide development work • Contribute to developing management, processes, and working methods Operational finance work • Ongoing accounting • Year-end closing work • Other financial administrative tasks as needed QUALIFICATIONS You have • an economics degree or equivalent experience deemed equivalent • experience working with budgets, monitoring, analysis, and financial management • good knowledge of financial systems and the Office package • strong communication skills • good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing It is also considered a merit if you have • experience from municipal operations • experience with the price tag model • experience with digitalization/automation of financial processes To succeed in this role, you are structured and analytical, with the ability to create order and clarity in complex contexts. You are communicative and pedagogical, and work in a collaborative manner with clear personal responsibility and drive. You are accustomed to delivering quality within given timeframes. Since the work is largely conducted remotely, you need to be self-directed and comfortable planning and driving your work forward independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
