Blomstergården is a special residential facility in central Krokom for elderly people with physical, mental, and cognitive impairments. We are now seeking nursing assistants who want to provide good care for our elderly citizens across four different units; one short-term care unit and three dementia units. The Social Services Department consists of 600 employees with a broad range of responsibilities. The department is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. We are responsible for providing care and support, assistance and services, as well as health and medical care to municipal residents who need it, at all stages of life. A day as a nursing assistant at Blomstergården Do you want to make a real difference in the daily lives of people with dementia or cognitive impairment? At Blomstergården, we work with heart, competence, and understanding to create safety, structure, and meaning for our residents – every day. As a nursing assistant on our dementia units, you provide support, care, and safety to people with cognitive impairments. The work always starts from the individual's needs, wishes, and care plans, where your knowledge and empathetic abilities are crucial for creating a meaningful and predictable everyday life for our residents. In your role, you will, among other things: Provide care and interact with people with cognitive impairment in a professional, calm, and respectful manner Work from a person-centered care perspective with focus on safety, continuity, and participation Contribute to maintaining structure, routines, and a calm environment that promotes safety and orientation Document and follow up on care plans Collaborate with nurses, rehabilitation staff, family members, and the unit manager Participate in team meetings, development work, and values-based work We work together as a team and value a work environment where colleagues support and strengthen each other – especially in situations that can be emotionally or cognitively demanding. We have regular team meetings, care team meetings, and in-house training for professional development. Your competence Requirements: Nursing assistant education with a valid diploma Good Swedish in speaking and writing, with the ability to communicate clearly and document correctly Meritorious: Experience working with people with dementia or other cognitive impairment Knowledge of communication and methods adapted for dementia care, such as validation approach or low-arousal interaction Experience working person-centered and individually adapted care Experience with documentation in digital systems within health and social care We are looking for someone with genuine commitment to providing care for people with cognitive impairment. You have the ability to create safety, handle stressful situations with calm, and show great patience in meeting each individual. You treat people with warmth, responsiveness, and respect – always with the individual's needs at the center. You are responsible, team-oriented, and want to contribute to a workplace characterized by professionalism, care, and development. Additional information Permanent employment, full-time or part-time depending on preference. A probationary period may be applied. The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts.
