The elderly care services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and collaboration. Väst-Teg care and housing facility is a newly built municipal residential facility located in Väst-Teg. The facility opened in autumn 2024. In total, there are 120 apartments distributed across 12 units, with each unit consisting of 10 apartments. Each unit has its own spacious balcony. On the ground floor, there is a café and a glass-enclosed outdoor patio. Väst-Teg's facilities also include a production kitchen. We are now seeking both nursing assistants and care support staff for our team! Your responsibilities With a professional approach and good conduct, you will assist our residents in their daily lives. The residents' self-determination is in focus, and you will contribute to ensuring that services are provided with high quality, in accordance with support decisions and implementation plans. You will assist with personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services. Your tasks also include documenting actions and health status, as well as medical duties based on delegation from the responsible nurse. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. About you For the nursing assistant positions, we seek someone who is a trained nursing assistant with experience working in elderly care. We would appreciate it if you have previous experience in dementia care. For the care support staff position, we seek someone with experience working in elderly care. We consider it meritorious if you have healthcare training and experience in dementia care. Your interaction with residents requires strong competence based on personal suitability, maturity, and empathetic ability. You demonstrate great commitment to both users and operations in all relationships and actions. You enjoy working independently, are patient and resourceful. You have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues, family members, and other professionals. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. To communicate with residents, family members, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Heavy lifting occurs; lifting aids must be used. Employment information Nursing Assistant: Two permanent positions, full-time, starting August/September by agreement. Care Support Staff: One temporary position, full-time, starting 2026-09-30 through 2027-01-31. Before a job offer is made, we ask you to provide an extract from the police criminal record register.
