Töreboda Municipality is a small municipality with 9,200 residents where proximity and collaboration across boundaries are well developed. We aim to maintain a well-staffed and stable operation that functions well for both our clients and employees. To achieve this, we have a well-resourced social services department with high expertise, which we consider essential for conducting good social work. The entire individual and family care services in Töreboda Municipality operates according to the Signs of Safety approach. Signs of Safety is a safety-oriented, collaboration-driven, and strength-based working method. We are looking for someone who wants to join us in strengthening and continuing to develop our services using this approach and who wants to expand their knowledge and methods in social work. The Children and Family Services unit consists of two parts: an authority section and an implementation section. In the Children and Family Services authority, our case handlers work with intake, investigations, and follow-up of open services, as well as case handlers for follow-up of placements, totaling 11 employees. There are also our two foster care coordinators. The Children and Family Services implementation includes our open care services and family center with a total of 10 employees. The unit also shares a social administration coordinator who provides administrative support. Each group has its own unit manager, both of whom are social workers with case handling experience. We operate with freedom under responsibility and offer flexible hours as well as the possibility to work from home up to two days per week. We follow the National Board of Health and Welfare's introduction program for new case handlers, and each work group receives regular supervision. We conduct regular workload measurements to ensure reasonable workload over time. The unit has strong management presence with close supervision from both managers. Our unit has broad and solid expertise, and all roles in our operations are important. We are good at helping each other and collaborating across boundaries. One of our employees will be on parental leave and needs to be replaced during this time. The Assignment We are primarily seeking a case handler for investigations and open services. You are responsible for preliminary assessments and, following applications or reports, investigating and assessing children's and families' needs for support and protection, and recommending appropriate interventions. For open services that are approved, you are responsible for following the family's change process and ensuring that the right support is provided so that treatment goals are met. The work involves authority functions and case handling according to the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act. If you or we feel that case handling concerning placed children and young people is more interesting or suits you better, there may be an opportunity to work with those tasks instead. QUALIFICATIONS The position requires a degree in social work and preferably previous experience working with child/youth case handling or similar. It is meritorious to have previous experience with authority functions and experience working according to Signs of Safety. Experience with treatment work with children and families is also valued highly. You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act, the Care of Young Persons Act, the Parenthood Code, and social services operations. You are responsible in your work and have good ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others. You must be flexible and able to handle acute situations. You have good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing and have good analytical skills. As a person, you are attentive, positive, and solution-oriented. Good conduct and empathy for people in difficult situations are a given for you. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A category B driver's license is required.
