We are now a Super Municipality! * We are seeking substitute teachers for the fall 2026 semester at Lerum Municipality's primary schools and after-school activities. If you are interested in starting work before summer, that opportunity is also available. As a substitute teacher, you will be employed through Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit. The assignments apply when regular staff are absent, which can be both short-notice fill-ins and longer-term substitutions. How it works: You will be employed on a temporary basis (substitute teacher) and receive ongoing requests for work shifts – sometimes on the same day, sometimes with longer notice. You indicate your own availability for work in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific work shifts. As a substitute teacher, work assignments can vary from day to day, and you may work in different schools throughout the municipality. Working hours are daytime on weekdays. 30 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES You are a trustworthy and positive role model for our students and support them in both their learning and social development. You act with calm, responsibility, and sound judgment even in challenging situations, and lead the way by being stable, clear, and consistent in your interactions. By being actively present, you guide and motivate students in their schoolwork, participate in their activities, and contribute to a safe and structured environment. You help create a quiet study atmosphere, set clear boundaries, and build good relationships through interaction in the classroom and during other parts of the school day. The work is varied and involves significant responsibility and independence. Examples of work tasks: • Teach lessons and lead classroom work based on regular staff's planning • Serve as an additional resource in the classroom and support the teacher in daily work • Assist individual students with tasks and needs that arise • Be present during breaks to contribute to safety and positive relationships • Work in after-school activities QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for someone who finds it easy to make connections in social settings and can quickly build trust with students. You take responsibility, show initiative, and are confident working independently. You have good ability to structure your work and move it forward, while also being responsive, attentive, and enjoy collaborating in a team. You are someone who can quickly adapt to new student groups, routines, and planning, and independently handle situations that arise during the school day. Education and experience The position requires a high school diploma. Experience from work in primary school, service occupations, or work where you support or help other people is a merit. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To work in primary school, a criminal record check is required.
