We are now a Super Municipality! * We are seeking substitute teachers for the fall term 2026 at Lerum Municipality's adapted schools. If you are interested in starting work before the summer, that is also possible. As a substitute teacher, you will be employed through Lerum Municipality's Staffing Unit. Assignments apply when regular staff are absent, which can be for both short-notice work and longer-term substitutions. How it works: You will be employed on an intermittent basis (hourly substitute) and receive ongoing requests for work shifts – sometimes with the same day notice, sometimes with longer advance notice. You indicate your own availability for work in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific work shifts. As a substitute teacher, work assignments can vary from day to day, and you may work in different schools throughout the municipality. Working hours are during daytime on weekdays. 8 position(s). WORK DUTIES You are a trustworthy and positive role model for our students and support them in their learning, communication, and social development. The students follow an adapted curriculum that is similar to and integrated with the elementary school curriculum, and teaching is conducted in close cooperation with elementary school principals and staff. The work uses various pedagogical tools such as visual supports, signs, and sensory or creative training to meet the students' individual needs. As support for individual students, you are actively present, provide guidance in both teaching and care situations, and contribute to a safe, structured, and predictable environment. The work is varied and involves significant responsibility as well as the ability to work independently. Examples of work duties: • Support an individual student in instruction based on regular staff's planning • Use visual supports, signs, and other adapted methods to facilitate communication and learning • Assist with practical activities, care, and activities during the school day • Participate in sensory, motor, and creative exercises together with the student • Provide security during breaks, transitions, and other changes • Contribute to leisure or afternoon activities adapted to the student's circumstances Please see the video about substitute teacher introduction at adapted school: https://ps.goteborgsregionen.se/vikanpassadskola QUALIFICATIONS Who are you? We are looking for someone who finds it easy to make social connections and can quickly build trust with students. You take responsibility, show initiative, and are confident working independently. You have good ability to structure your work and drive it forward, while also being attentive, responsive, and enjoying collaboration in a team. You are a person who can quickly adapt to new student groups, routines, and planning, and independently handle situations that arise during the school day. Educational background and experience The position requires a high school diploma. Experience from work in elementary school, service professions, or work where you support or help other people is an asset. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To work in elementary school, an extract from the criminal records register is required.
