Alma Assistans is a dedicated company that works in collaboration with clients to provide personalized assistance services. We work closely with our clients and understand that strong relationships are key to effective assistance. We operate throughout Sweden with our headquarters in Uppsala and local offices in Gävle, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Jönköping, and Växjö. I am an 18-year-old boy who needs extra support in daily life. I am active and enjoy staying busy. I live in my own apartment in central Olofström, which has good bus connections. During school terms, I attend school and after-school programs, where I communicate using pictures. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. My "rollator" has a third wheel so I can get around most places. I can stand on my own feet and train in my standing frame regularly (at least 60 minutes/day). I really enjoy music. Others may get tired of hearing the same songs over and over, but I become happy and calm from music I recognize. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity. Since I don't have spoken language, there can sometimes be frustration. It's important that you recognize early signs and can redirect me in time. It's important that I know what will happen and feel prepared. When people don't understand me, I can become "flash angry" and maybe throw something on the floor or wave my arms. Then it's important that you as an assistant stay calm and don't get scared. As quickly as I become angry, I become happy again. I always have a trick up my sleeve – I enjoy humor and laughter. Who are you applying for this job? If you're applying, it's great if you enjoy being active while also being able to take things at a slower pace. You need to be stable and attentive; it's advantageous if you have experience with autism and aggressive behavior. Most importantly, you need to be grounded and have your heart in the right place.
