About the Unit Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Command (FMTIS) is seeking you to become our new Radio/Telecommunications Engineer. You will be part of Implementation Unit South (GE Syd) with placement in Hästveda. GE Syd operates to ensure Swedish Armed Forces' ability to communicate and lead, 24/7 - year-round. The unit consists of just over 170 employees distributed across 7 departments at 6 locations within Military Region South (MR S) area. We work in a developing environment characterized by ambition, technical expertise, and opportunity for personal development. In this position, you will of course receive the supervision and supplementary training needed to give you the best conditions to perform your work. Main Responsibilities You will, among other things, perform operation and maintenance on Swedish Armed Forces' communication systems which are part of monitoring Sweden's territory. The work is mainly conducted at Swedish Armed Forces' unmanned facilities, therefore business travel and overnight stays at other locations are common. System support trips internationally may occur. Independently or in work teams, work with preventive and remedial maintenance, commissioning, installation, and modification of Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Radio equipment Repair work in masts and towers The position also involves collaborating with colleagues in other technical areas and external suppliers REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Completed upper secondary education or post-secondary education with a focus on electrical/telecommunications/data communication or equivalent knowledge that the employer deems equivalent Basic knowledge of IT/TCP/IP and electrical engineering Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish and English Category B driver's license, without restrictions Computer proficiency Good physical fitness Personal Qualities To thrive in the role as Radio/Telecommunications Engineer with us, we see that you are conscientious and practically inclined with high safety awareness. Other Information Employment Form: Permanent employment as a civilian employee starting with a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by Swedish Armed Forces.
