Certified teacher in textiles grades 4-9 IES Österåker opened in August 2024 and is a modern K-9 school with high ambitions. When the school reaches full capacity, we will have approximately 600 students distributed across two parallel classes per grade level. We follow the Swedish curriculum and up to 50 percent of instruction is conducted in English. Our operations are characterized by clear structure, high academic expectations, and a safe learning environment where both students and staff thrive and develop. The school is centrally located in Åkersberga in a combination of newly built and renovated facilities. With proximity to sports facilities, green spaces, and the archipelago, we offer an inspiring work environment, approximately 30 minutes commute from Stockholm. We are now seeking a certified teacher in textiles for grades 4–9 who wants to make a difference every day. As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, instruction, assessment, and follow-up in accordance with Lgr22. You actively work to develop students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical knowledge within textile techniques and creative processes. You create an inspiring and safe learning environment where students have the opportunity to develop both independence and collaboration skills through practical and creative work. The position also includes mentorship, where you play a central role in students' academic and social development. You maintain close contact with guardians and collaborate closely with colleagues, student support teams, and school leadership. Work peace is important to us. We are looking for someone who - is a certified teacher in textiles for grades 4–9 - demonstrates clear leadership and creates structure and work peace - has high expectations for your students and strong confidence in their abilities - is engaged, solution-focused, and enjoys collaborating - provides clear and continuous feedback that drives student development forward You are confident in your profession and vary your instruction to meet different students' needs. You work inclusively and see collaboration with student support services and colleagues as an integral part of your role. You have good knowledge of materials, tools, and work processes within textile instruction as well as the ability to inspire students toward creativity and joy in creation.
