Certified Science Teacher, Grades 7–9 About Us IES Österåker opened in August 2024 and is a modern K-9 school with high ambitions. When the school reaches full capacity, we will have approximately 600 students distributed across two parallel classes per grade level. We follow the Swedish curriculum and up to 50 percent of instruction takes place in English. Our operations are characterized by clear structure, high academic expectations, and a safe learning environment where both students and staff thrive and develop. The school is centrally located in Åkersberga in a combination of newly built and renovated facilities. With proximity to sports facilities, green spaces, and the archipelago, we offer an inspiring work environment, approximately 30 minutes' commute from Stockholm. Your Role We are now seeking a certified science teacher for grades 7–9 who wants to make a difference every day. As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, instruction, assessment, and follow-up in accordance with Lgr22. You actively work to develop students' scientific understanding, analytical ability, and curiosity about how the world works. The position also includes mentoring, where you play a central role in students' academic and social development. You maintain close contact with guardians and work closely with colleagues, student support teams, and school leadership. Work peace is important to us. This gives you as a teacher the right conditions to focus on instruction and knowledge development. You work inclusively and view collaboration with student support services and colleagues as a natural part of your role. Instruction takes place in Swedish, but because we are an international workplace, you need to feel comfortable communicating in English with colleagues.
