Supplier Development Engineer / SDE

About the Position We are seeking an engaged and structured SDE who wants to work in an operationally focused and international environment with a strong focus on supplier quality and continuous improvement. In this role, you will work cross-functionally and collaborate closely with internal departments such as quality, engineering, production, and logistics. You will also have extensive collaboration with external suppliers and play a key role in ensuring that our suppliers meet requirements regarding quality, processes, and technical specifications. The role involves travel related to supplier visits and audits. Responsibilities The role includes, among other things: Evaluate and approve new potential suppliers Plan and conduct supplier visits and supplier audits Evaluate, develop, and follow up on existing suppliers, including supplier audits Drive and follow up on supplier development regarding product and process until PPAP approval Ensure that suppliers have a correct understanding of drawings and technical specifications Ensure that suppliers use Gnutti Supplier Portal in accordance with applicable requirements Ensure alignment on measurement methods and measurement results between supplier and organization Actively support handling of customer complaints and problem-solving Support Supplier Quality Manager in implementing supplier agreements Support and collaborate with SQE and SQM according to established escalation procedures Participate in VAVE initiatives and programs for material cost reduction Prepare and compile monthly reports Act in accordance with Gnutti Group Code of Conduct Qualifications We are looking for someone with technical education, such as technical secondary school or equivalent experience. Experience working with supplier quality in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable. Requirements: Basic knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D, MSA, APQP, SPC, PPAP, and risk-based approach Good knowledge of materials and components such as cast iron, steel, aluminum, and related casting and forging processes Good knowledge of problem-solving methodology, such as Ishikawa, 5 Why, and HERCA Good experience working in SAP Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Merits: Engineering degree VDA 6.3 auditor training VDA 6.3 certification (mandatory when working with customers such as Bosch, Daimler, MAN, Scania, VW, and Audi) IATF 16949 2nd party auditor training Experience with heavy heat treatment and surface finishing such as plating and coating Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 or equivalent standards Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented. You have a proactive work approach and thrive in a role where you combine technical expertise with collaboration and communication. You are confident in dialogue with both internal departments and external suppliers and have the ability to drive matters forward in a clear and professional manner. With your commitment, you contribute to strengthening supplier quality and creating long-term and sustainable supplier relationships.
