Study & Careers Advisor

Description:

We are now recruiting a Study & Careers Advisor for part-time work during the upcoming school year. Would you like to work in an international environment with a clear pedagogical vision? Internationale Engelska Skolan has made a significant difference for our students over the past 30 years. We are convinced that our clear ethos with engaged staff creates an environment where everyone works toward common goals. We have a strong culture built on proven routines. With us, teachers can focus on teaching and learning. Students are at the center of everything we do—all students are your students. At Internationale Engelska Skolan, we are a team pulling in the same direction. To enjoy working with us, you should share our conviction about the importance of clear values, collegial learning, and shared routines and approaches. IES is proud of its staff and has developed a method for creating a calm and secure school environment. This gives our staff more time to share their knowledge with both students and colleagues. We are looking for someone with a positive and professional approach, who is flexible and shows great commitment to the best interests of our students. Experience with Erasmus is a merit. In your role as a Study & Careers Advisor in compulsory school, you will be part of the school's student welfare team. You will work with both individual counseling and in classes. You will also collaborate with work teams, informing and guiding students about upper secondary education, the future job market, and stimulating students' interest and curiosity about upcoming choices and specializations at school. You will share information with students and guardians about various options within compulsory school that form the basis for future study and career choices. You will conduct guidance conversations before upper secondary school selection and coordinate PRAO (internships) for years 8 and 9. Excellent Swedish and English are required for this position. To succeed in this role, you need to be a trustworthy person who finds it easy to build relationships and communicate effectively. This position is an exciting opportunity to work in a stimulating and international environment. Employment: The position is a permanent part-time role (50%) starting fall 2026. Internationale Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993. N.B.
