We offer you, as you begin term 6 of the nursing program and choose to start your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for a study stipend during your final term (term 6). Sometimes the step from education to work life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us at Akademiska Hospital. KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for you as a newly graduated nurse employed by Region Uppsala, designed to help you sharpen your clinical skills, network with other newly graduated nurses, and have reflection time with experienced nurses. Read more about Clinical Development Year | Akademiska. Our Operations The psychiatry division provides highly specialized care for individuals with serious mental illnesses. Psychiatry Unit 3A is part of the section for affective disorders. We are 24-hour care units with 13 beds for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with primarily affective disorders, mainly bipolar syndromes, severe depression, and anxiety conditions. At Psychiatry Unit 3A, we also care for patients with eating disorder issues. Four of the care beds are dedicated to this treatment. Your Qualifications and Competence We are looking for you as a nursing student beginning T6. You are interested in psychiatry and want to start working at Unit 3A after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and good collaboration skills. What We Offer We offer you a permanent employment as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your nursing license, your employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse. You commit to working 12 months with us after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a care assistant during your studies, but it is not required. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty around the clock, so-called shift work.
