The Department for Work and Learning is responsible for, among other things, individual and family welfare, labor market and employment, as well as adult education and upper secondary school. Our core mission is to offer education, support, and measures based on the individual's needs and circumstances. Through early, promoting, and preventive measures, we conduct goal-oriented work in cooperation with other societal actors. Education and Employment is a department that is responsible for upper secondary and adult education as well as measures and employment for persons with mental disabilities or for persons who need support for sustainable self-sufficiency. In addition to educational and support measures, we work with job training, internship coordination, and matching to the labor market. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our operations and contribute to giving more people the opportunity to study to break exclusion, make a life change, establish themselves on the labor market, or take the next step to higher education. As a study and career counselor with us, you meet a broad target group. This includes students in upper secondary school, newly arrived adults in Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), persons who want to complete their basic or upper secondary education, individuals interested in vocational education, and those who want to pursue further studies at a university of applied sciences or university. In the role, you work with study and career guidance at both individual and group levels. Together with the student, education providers, and industries, you plan validation and supplementary educational measures with the aim of achieving grades or certificates. The assignment also includes developing guidance for newly arrived immigrants and strengthening the possibilities of combining language learning with other educational pathways. Admission work is an important part of the position, as is degree planning for our students. As a study and career counselor with us, you work closely with several different actors, such as other guidance colleagues, the labor market unit, activities within social psychiatry, various education providers in adult education and upper secondary school, coordination officers for quality assurance, and units within social services. You also cooperate with the business community in the municipality, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and other external actors. The position also includes conducting outreach activities to reach individuals in need of support, as well as actively working to motivate them to studies or other employment. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with commitment to people, good ability to cooperate with different types of professions, and openness to individual solutions based on the individual's needs and circumstances. You are engaged, unpretentious, attentive, have good communication skills, and are self-driven. You are used to handling a diversity of cases in periodically high-paced work and are skilled at related administrative tasks and digital systems. We are looking for someone with a study and career counselor degree, but other higher education qualifications that are deemed equivalent are also valuable. We consider it a merit if you have experience and knowledge from study and career guidance within upper secondary school and adult education and labor market policy assignments.
