As a student and career counselor in Krokom Municipality, you will become part of the central Child and Student Health Services – an operation with approximately 25 employees from different professions who work together for children's learning, development, and health. The Department of Children and Education has approximately 800 employees. The department's operations span the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school grades F–9, adapted primary school, after-school programs, catering and facility management, mother tongue instruction, and library services. A day as a student and career counselor in Krokom Municipality As a student and career counselor, you work to support students' development toward educational goals and future study and career choices. You meet students both individually and in groups and contribute knowledge about educational pathways, the job market, and future opportunities. You are organizationally placed within the central Child and Student Health Services and simultaneously part of local student health teams at the schools. Work is conducted in close collaboration with the principal, educators, student health professionals, guardians, and external partners. The mission includes, among other things: • conducting individual student and career counseling • providing information about educational pathways, the job market, and upper secondary school choices • supporting students regarding future study and career choices • collaborating with guardians and external stakeholders • providing consultation and support to school staff on student and career guidance matters • developing the schools' student and career guidance work You actively participate in the schools' student health teams and contribute a student and career guidance perspective to the overall student health work. The position involves varied work where you combine direct student-focused work with development work at the organizational level. Your expertise Requirements for the position • Student and career counselor degree from a university or college, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent • Good digital skills • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing • Category B driver's license and access to a car Meritorious qualifications • Experience in student and career counseling within primary school • Experience working in student health services or other interdisciplinary operations • Experience with development and quality improvement work within educational operations Personal qualities As a person, you are well-organized, responsible, and solution-focused. You have a genuine interest in supporting and motivating students in their development and future choices. You have an analytical approach and the ability to see both the big picture and details. You translate analysis into action and contribute to the operation's development. You have good collaboration skills, build trusting relationships, and enjoy working both independently and with others. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Other information The position is a permanent employment at 100 percent with a start date by agreement. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting.
