Welcome to us Your future workplace Akalla Grundskola is a two-parallel municipal F-9 school with approximately 535 students and 105 employees. Akalla Grundskola also includes Järva's regional special education groups. We work extensively with three- and two-teacher systems in grades 1-9. Currently, 50% of the time will be at our sister school Husbygårdsskolan. Your primary task is to work with students in our upper secondary level. Together with the principal, assistant principals, special educators, school nurse and school counselor, you will form the school's student support team. In your role as career and academic counselor, you will work with professional guidance conversations. You will work with both individual guidance and group guidance. The work involves close collaboration with teachers and other staff. Furthermore, the role includes planning and conducting information sessions in classes and for parents/guardians. To ensure the school's mission according to the curriculum regarding career and academic guidance as a school-wide responsibility, close collaboration is also required between the career counselor, principal/school leadership, teachers and other staff. Administrative work related to your role is also part of the position. You will also be an important participant in the school's Student Support Team. The work involves many contact points with both students, staff and parents/guardians as well as various functions within education and the labor market. Your role You have good collaboration skills and can build strong relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, work teams and parents/guardians. You can plan your work both short and long term and can work independently. Being communicative and having a positive attitude is important to us. You contribute to the school's systematic quality work within your area. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities. Your competence and experience The career and academic counselor has competence that includes deep and current knowledge of educational pathways and education systems, the labor market, working life and professions. Theoretical knowledge in career choice and guidance, knowledge and skills in conversation methods, and methods for choice-making and proven experience are also required.
