We are now seeking an engaged and confident support assistant for an LSS residential facility with five residents within person group 1, with diagnoses such as intellectual disabilities (ID) and autism. In the summer of 2024, Strängnäs Municipality opened a new LSS residential facility in the scenic Stallarholmen. The facility is located on the outskirts of the community with proximity to forests and green areas. There are five apartments as well as common spaces for social gatherings and activities. The work team consists of eight staff members, and with us you will have good opportunities to work together with colleagues to create a safe, developmental, and meaningful daily life for the residents based on their individual needs and circumstances. JOB DUTIES Work as a support assistant is based on individual implementation plans with the goal that each resident is given the opportunity for a meaningful life, increased independence, and participation in their daily life. The assignment includes assessing skills and support needs to create appropriate accommodations and provide individually tailored support. You follow the residents in their daily lives and provide support in everything related to home and everyday matters, for example: • cooking and household chores • personal care • leisure activities and physical activity • social relationships and contact with family members A pedagogical and low-intensity approach is a central part of the work. We are therefore looking for someone who has a genuine interest in the target group and who works with respect, clarity, and commitment in meeting with each individual. Bathing and swimming are recurring activities in the facility where staff participate together with residents. Therefore, it is a requirement that you can swim and feel comfortable in water. Working hours are scheduled with day shifts, evening shifts, and alternating weekends. The position also includes the requirement to be able to receive delegated tasks within agreed time according to HSL. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • education as a nursing assistant with a focus on disabilities, childcare provider, or other equivalent education • previous experience working in LSS services • experience with low-intensity approaches • experience with social documentation • good computer skills • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • ability to work pedagogically, in a structured and safe manner • genuine interest in supporting people toward increased quality of life • swimming ability and capacity to participate in bathing and swimming activities together with residents • Class B driver's license Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
