We are now recruiting several experienced Substation Technicians who want to be part of building the maintenance operation of the future! We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's biggest investments ever – a historic concentration of resources to build stronger, more resilient, and completely independent capabilities in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Responsibilities and Tasks As a Substation Technician, you have a central role in ensuring that our electrical installations from 0.4 to 400 kV are safe, available, and equipped for future energy needs. In this role, you get varied and practical field work where you combine advanced technical problem-solving with careful digital documentation. Together with colleagues in operations, maintenance, and projects, you contribute to an electricity grid with high operational reliability and quality, where your technical expertise makes a real difference in everyday operations, both for our installations and for society. Your main responsibilities include: Perform service, operations, maintenance, construction, and troubleshooting in substations and electrical installations Conduct rounds, inspections, and checks according to established maintenance programs and report deviations Work according to ESA, EBR, and applicable safety procedures, and participate in risk assessments and work planning Perform maintenance, repairs, and connections on switchgear equipment such as transformers, breakers, disconnectors, tap changers, battery systems, as well as thermography work and grounding checks, etc. Minor modifications and fault corrections may be part of the role Document completed work and manage work orders in our digital systems Contribute to developing working methods and procedures for increased safety and quality The role involves a strong focus on safety, quality, progress, and engagement. Safety is the guiding star in everything we do – in a high-risk environment, we take care of each other and create security together. The work is carried out on assignment from a maintenance manager. Travel within the area and on-call duty can be a natural part of the assignment. Requirements We are looking for someone with good technical understanding, strong safety awareness, and interest in working with complex electrical installations. You are organized, thorough, and take responsibility for both quality and safety in your work. We would like you to have: Upper secondary education in electrical power/electrical work or equivalent vocational education Experience as a substation technician, electrical technician, distribution electrician, industrial electrician, or similar Fluent Swedish in speech and writing B-category driving license It is an advantage if you have good ability to read drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation, as well as a basic understanding of control, protection, and monitoring systems.
