About the Operations Karlslundsskolan is a well-functioning grades F-9 school located in central Vallentuna with good access to transportation. The school has approximately 500 students and 80 staff members. The school manages all facilities in-house and operates a restaurant kitchen. Our vision is to increase accessibility in learning and development for students, with a focus on learning environments and modern planning that starts from the students. Karlslundsskolan is Erasmus+ accredited and conducts several exchanges with students and teachers each year. Vallentuna music classes are run by Karlslundsskolan and represent an exciting cultural aspect of the school unit. Job Responsibilities As a special education teacher, you work closely with teachers, for the students. You develop the school unit by making teaching accessible to students. With good communication and strong relationships, you act as a professional sounding board for teachers. You work to identify development areas for the entire school unit and in individual teaching situations. Through qualitative analysis and systematic work, you drive ongoing development processes in practice. This position is primarily focused on the upper grades of primary school. You need a sharp pedagogical eye to see what needs to be developed, as well as the drive and knowledge to implement that development in practice. You see opportunities to develop teaching together with teachers and educators. Your working approach is proactive and outreach-oriented. You are a support to the entire school with your special education expertise at the forefront. We have trust-based and distributed leadership and management at the school. It is a great advantage if you yourself have a talent for this, take great responsibility, and are driven to succeed in practice. You are responsible for developing preventive, supporting, and intervention measures in collaboration with guardians, teachers, and school leadership. You are also responsible for conducting pedagogical assessments and various types of investigations, creating, and continuously evaluating action plans and support measures. You work with the results tracking plan to evaluate, analyze, follow up, and implement changes in teaching together with the teachers. You conduct planning of structural support for students and communicate this with teachers. You communicate with guardians of students who need more support and teach students in the learning studio. You also plan and follow up on various school development processes. You will be a natural and important part of the school's student support team. You work closely with the assistant principal and school leadership. Qualifications You are trained as a special education teacher or special educator. You have experience teaching in primary school. You have experience coaching teachers on teaching and accommodations for students with special needs. You have excellent pedagogical competence to ensure quality work with action plans and support measures. Personal Qualities You work toward results, demonstrate reliability, and take responsibility for planning and monitoring your work. You strengthen relationships by helping others, collaborating, following rules and processes, and sharing information. You develop, improve, seek solutions, learning, and knowledge on your own initiative.
