Description We are looking for you to work as a special education teacher at Stålvallaskolan and Nordmarks skola! Stålvallaskolan is an F - 9 school located in Lesjöfors, approximately three miles north of Filipstad. The school has approximately 100 students divided into two different buildings for students in grades F - 5 and 6 - 9 respectively, and has an after-school program. Nordmarks skola is beautifully situated in Nordmarkshyttan approximately 1.5 miles from Filipstad and is an F - 6 school. The school has just over 40 students divided into one preschool class, one grades 1 - 3 class, and one grades 4 - 6 class. The school also has an after-school care program. At both schools, there are student welfare teams that include the principal/assistant principal, special education teacher, counselor, and school nurse. We actively work to ensure that students feel comfortable and secure at the schools, in part by offering structured recess activities and continuous values-based education in classrooms. Approximately 25 dedicated staff members work at Stålvallaskolan and seven staff members at Nordmarks skola. We are now looking for you to become part of our two teams! Responsibilities As a special education teacher, you will be part of the schools' student welfare and have close collaboration with the schools' educators. A large part of the assignment will be to encourage reading and work toward the goal that all students will be able to read and understand what they read when they leave grade six. In this work, you will work closely with teachers and students. Collaboration with students, guardians, and teachers is an important part of the assignment. Another major part of the assignment will be to be responsible for assessments and analyses to work with the teachers based on these analyses to develop students' learning. As a special education teacher at Stålvallaskolan and Nordmarks skola, you will spend a lot of time in the classroom to observe and provide guidance. The assignment also includes driving collegial processes together with the teachers. Administrative tasks such as evaluations and intervention programs are included in the assignment, and this work also includes collaboration with students, guardians, and teachers. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a teacher certification for primary school grades F - 6 and/or 7 - 9 and has a special education degree. It is a merit if you have taken courses in reading, language, and writing development. It is also a merit if you have previous experience working with results compilation and analysis of results, as well as previous experience in coaching teachers and being responsible for and driving collegial learning. A B driving license is required. As a special education teacher, you need to have a good ability to interact with different people, cooperate, and collaborate. You need to have administrative skills and good knowledge in analysis work and well-developed computer skills.
