About Österåkers Gymnasium Österåkers Gymnasium is a smaller upper secondary school (620 students) with the opportunities of a larger school. This gives us good conditions to actively work with positive relationships and to meet our students with high expectations. We offer Economics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology programs and two Introduction programs. We have secured seven years of financing from the EU for our Erasmus projects and international collaborations. The school also has many student companies that compete with their business plans and collaborate with our local business community. Being in a municipality with a clear entrepreneurial profile provides great opportunities. Students can also combine their studies with profiles in sports and aesthetic creation. Our Golf profile is a NIU - nationally approved sports education and accepts applicants from across the region. We have a very high proportion of qualified teachers and low staff turnover. We also have six senior teachers who work on school development through lesson design. You will develop and build a flexible support unit and be the responsible special education teacher for two programs. The development work is conducted together with our other special education teacher, assistant principals, and the support services in the Introduction program. The work for the coming year is focused on supportive processes for good attendance, digital and physical learning environments, and improved study techniques. The new support service is for students from all programs to enable a specially adapted learning environment, for shorter or longer periods. You will be part of the school's Student Support Team and conduct pedagogical assessments together with our experienced student support team and teaching staff. Your Profile If you are a driven special education teacher who wants to be part of a team working to create better education for our students, this job is for you. To be relevant for this position: You should be trained as a special education teacher with experience conducting pedagogical assessments and working with upper secondary students. You should have an upper secondary teacher certification. You should be highly skilled in digital systems such as Teams, various assistive technology programs and methods to promote learning and engagement. You should have experience planning and implementing exciting and engaging activities that increase students' motivation and strengthen their self-confidence. You should have an inquisitive, solution-focused, and critical approach to the challenges the school faces as AI enters the school. Scope of Employment 100% or by agreement. For this role, the starting salary is normally between 43 000 – 55 000 kr depending on experience and qualifications.
