About the Position As a special education teacher in our central student support services, you work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You contribute your special education expertise in close collaboration with educators, principals, student support teams, and guardians. Student support is central. The key to success in our small municipality is that we work collaboratively with colleagues to support each other when needed. However, you will have a regular placement at a specific school and in daily operations you will be led by the principal on site. As a special education teacher, you will receive a vacation employment contract according to the collective agreement. Your main responsibilities will include: advising and providing consultative support to educators and principals regarding accommodations and special support contributing to the development of accessible learning environments conducting pedagogical assessments and evaluations participating in the development and follow-up of support programs collaborating with student support teams and external actors such as child psychiatry services, social services, and rehabilitation services Providing instructional support when needed We are looking for someone with: teacher certification and preferably special education training or currently pursuing such training experience working in elementary school with students requiring special support sound knowledge of school legislation, particularly regarding accommodations and special support It is meritorious if you have experience working with neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or language disorders. As a person, we see that you are secure, attentive, and solution-focused. You have good analytical ability and thrive in an advisory role.
