JOB DUTIES The position is organized within Central Student Health Services, which is a municipality-wide unit with various professional competencies to meet children and young people's needs for optimal development, learning, and health. At Central Student Health Services, we work in teams and consist of different professions that collaborate: special education teachers for schools, special education teachers for early childhood education, school counselors, school nurses, school psychologist, speech-language-hearing educator, and an SLS developer. As a special education teacher for early childhood education in Säter Municipality, you primarily collaborate with special education teachers, SLS developers, and speech-language-hearing educators, as well as principals and preschool staff. You are part of the Central Student Health Services team and have, for example, team meetings with them. You work on assignments that come in through requests from principals to our journal system Prorenata. Together with a special education teacher colleague and SLS developer, you form a team that jointly decides which cases you will work on, supported by the case management process for support measures in early childhood education. You lead and organize your work independently and have support from your manager and team in decisions where needed. The role includes participating in the Preschool Team, led by the Student Health Chief, where principals, special education teachers for early childhood education, SLS developers, speech-language-hearing educators, and pedagogists together plan and conduct developmental work in early childhood education. All with a focus on preventive and health-promoting work to contribute to an inclusive learning environment for our children. The work includes coaching preschool staff, in-depth assessments, observations, and preventive measures. Special education teachers plan and conduct competency development across the municipality in collaboration with principals and the Student Health Services manager. In this role, you have the opportunity to influence and drive the municipality's and preschools' development. The special education teacher should be a qualified discussion partner/advisor to principals, preschool staff, resources, and parents on educational matters. The special education teacher coaches staff individually and in groups. The work also includes collaboration with external partners such as rehabilitation services. There is close and continuous collaboration within the special education teacher group, which enables, for example, peer coaching and drawing on each other's expertise within the special education field. This means you receive great support in your own profession. The special education teacher group, consisting of special education teachers for both early childhood education and school, continuously receives external coaching. QUALIFICATIONS We prefer that you have a special education teacher degree. If not, you have a special education teacher training with documented specialization in special education. You have a deep understanding of children's learning and development in early years. You have knowledge of the importance of play for language, social interaction, and learning. You have good ability and knowledge about how to adapt teaching and learning environments based on children's different needs. You have good knowledge of inclusive approaches in early childhood education and ideas about how it can be implemented. It is a merit if you have experience with documentation in the child and student health journal system Prorenata.
