Description Hällefors Municipality has a central student services department that serves the municipality's two primary schools, adapted primary school, and upper secondary school, with a total of approximately 800 students. Student services consists of counselors, school nurses, special education specialists, a school physician, and a psychologist. We are now seeking an additional special education specialist and are looking for someone who wants to join our team. The goal of student services is to promote learning and remove barriers to learning. The work is health-promoting, preventive, and action-oriented at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Responsibilities Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' needs, and participate in psychological evaluations and diagnosis of learning difficulties or other functional impairments. Work with accommodations and support for students with various needs, both in instruction and in the school environment. Provide consultative support to school staff, including teachers and principals, to create a more inclusive and adapted learning environment. Support and guide parents to help them understand and support their children's development and learning. Collaborate with external partners such as rehabilitation services, hearing specialists, speech-language pathologists, and special education authorities. Qualifications Special education teaching degree or special education specialist degree. Experience working with students requiring special support. Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff. Empathy and attentiveness in working with students and colleagues. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good Swedish language skills and ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Category B driver's license. Meritorious Experience with the PMO documentation system. Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric and intellectual functional impairments. If you hold a primary school teaching degree. Terms The position is a permanent contract at 100%, with daytime work and start date in fall 2026. A probationary period may be applied. The position is a vacation relief position.
