We are now recruiting a certified special education teacher/teacher in Swedish and English for the central special education group Hugin. Job Responsibilities The assignment primarily consists of pedagogical work with students, individually and in groups, together with the work team, consisting of teachers and support staff, in close collaboration. Mentorship for students is also part of the responsibilities. You need to be able to share responsibility for the students' daily lives, the work group's development, and the department's role as a special resource within the education administration's organization. A willingness to participate and contribute to collaborative education and regular supervision is a requirement, as is the willingness and ability to work closely with colleagues, students, guardians, home schools, and external partners. Working with children and young people with NPF (neuropsychiatric functional variations), whose behavior challenges the environment, places great demands on commitment, empathy, approach, collaboration, and perseverance. You need knowledge of functional disabilities but, above all, knowledge of how to meet, motivate, and communicate with the specific student. A low-arousal approach (LAB), clarifying pedagogy with visual support, and collaborative problem-solving (CPS) form the basis of our work. A non-competitive work environment is also required to continuously follow up and reconsider working methods and approaches to develop effective support. Continuous support through supervision, both in groups and individually, is provided by the central child and student health services. The assignment includes developing the activities together with colleagues and the unit manager for Hugin. About the Workplace: Karlshamn Municipality operates a central special education group for primary school students with extraordinary need for special support. The activities are divided into three parts, all located in Asarum. The goal is to offer specialized expertise in adapted learning environments for students from the municipality's municipal primary schools. Collaboration with the home schools where students have their class affiliation is sought, and a student's placement at Hugin can vary in duration and scope. The student's principal retains legal responsibility for formal decisions regarding schooling. The purpose of Hugin's work is to create conditions for students to develop knowledge, values, and skills through individually designed adaptations. The framework for the work is the school's governing documents, the Curriculum for Primary School (LGR 22), the Swedish National Agency for Education's general advice, and the Education Act. The design of instruction requires individual adaptations based on each student's needs and circumstances.
