Specialist Nurse or Nurse for the Recovery Unit
Description:
Now is your opportunity to join us! Do you want to work with varied tasks, changing pace, and a wide variety of patient categories? Then the Recovery Unit may be the right place for you. Your Workplace At the Recovery Unit, all staff receive continuous education and training, and as a new employee you will also receive an individualized onboarding plan that includes internships at the ICU and anesthesia. We offer staff without specialist training an assignment-based education in postoperative care (7.5 credits) and instructor training (7.5 credits). The unit has a preference-based schedule with mixed shifts and various options for weekly working hours. Early in the year, you can plan your major holidays and vacation. We are proud of our unit and work toward a workplace where we strive for: Professionalism – education, development, and a strong culture of improvement. Clarity and structure – consistency in our work methods, where everyone knows what to do, when, and how. Security – we encourage questions and have a learning culture. Teamwork – we dare to try new things, help each other, and encourage and support one another. Well-being – we enjoy our work and actively work on initiatives for workplace satisfaction. If this sounds interesting, submit your application or get in touch and we'll tell you more. Your Tasks In the recovery unit, we prepare and care for both critically ill patients and those who are essentially healthy but need surgery or help with advanced procedures for various reasons. The work is characterized by short, fast-paced interactions and a high tempo that requires you to work systematically, prioritize, and handle different patient situations. Our tasks also include supporting other units with advanced medical procedures such as chest drainage, electrical cardioversion, central venous catheters, peripheral venous catheters, and more. We follow up on patients receiving epidural anesthesia and also help other units with training. Our mission includes supporting the ICU and the rest of the hospital with temporary care spaces when we have capacity. The unit is open 24/7 and we also serve as the hospital's backup for major/special incidents, as we have many observation beds. We also have a vascular access clinic in our unit where we work as a team to establish advanced venous accesses for patients with special needs. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you, a licensed nurse with at least three years of experience working in a hospital unit. Merits include a specialist nurse qualification and/or evidence of specialist competence in anesthesia care or intensive care. As a person, you are confident, stable, and professional. You have the ability to synthesize information, prioritize correctly, and make well-founded decisions with a service-oriented approach. You communicate well in both Swedish and English.
