OUR SUPPORT AND CARE SERVICES As a summer substitute in Tranås municipality, you make a meaningful contribution and build valuable experience for future employment. You will learn to take responsibility, increase your ability to collaborate, and develop your approach to people. Within support and care, you work as a summer substitute with citizens affected by the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS). If you are interested in working within support and care this summer, you are welcome to submit your application. PERSONAL ASSISTANCE As a summer substitute in personal assistance, you work with citizens who have been granted assistance from a personal assistant at home. This may involve help and support with activities the person cannot perform themselves, such as personal hygiene, help with meals, help with dressing and undressing, as well as support in communicating with others. Some independent work and 24-hour shifts may occur. GROUP AND SERVICE HOUSING In group homes, you work as a summer substitute in a residential setting for people with more extensive supervision and care needs. In service housing, you work as a summer substitute in a residential setting for people with certain support needs but who are also capable of managing much on their own. Both group and service housing consist of individual apartments with access to staff 24 hours a day and shared common areas. SOCIAL PSYCHIATRY Within social psychiatry, there is an opportunity for you as a summer substitute to work with people living in our special accommodations for mental disability or those in need of support at home, also called residential support. At accommodations for mental disability, there is access to staff 24 hours a day. In residential support, services are based on needs, such as training in household tasks, for example cooking, or planning contact or visits to authorities or healthcare. It involves supporting people with daily activities in society, not just in residential settings or at home. QUALIFICATIONS For the summer, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in meeting people and helping them in their daily lives. Important qualities are customer service skills, flexibility, and responsibility. The work may involve physically and mentally demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, independent work, and work shifts during evenings and nights. According to the Work Environment Act Chapter 5 Section 3 and AFS 2023:2 Chapter 8, these work tasks cannot be performed by minors; therefore, we are looking for someone who is at least 18 years old. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement. A B driver's license (manual) may be required in some services. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We view it positively if you are a nursing assistant or have ongoing or completed upper secondary education in care and social services, but this is not a requirement. It is also positive if you have previous experience working in care and social services, but if you lack experience, you are still welcome to apply. WORK HOURS In support and care, flexible working hours occur; you can work day, evening, night, or weekends. In some services, independent work, 24-hour shifts, night on-call duties, and waking nights at residents' homes may occur. EMPLOYMENT AND SALARY Hourly employment with schedule and guaranteed employment level during one or two vacation periods. The summer period is between weeks 25–32. The first vacation period falls between weeks 25-28 and the second between weeks 29-32. You can choose whether you want to work the first or second vacation period, or the entire vacation period. If you work both vacation periods, that is weeks 25-32 with a service level of at least 80%, you have the opportunity for a bonus of 4000 kr before tax. This is paid out with your final salary.
