In connection with the New Social Services Act, we have recently established our assistance-free initiatives to shift toward preventive work, and during the fall the department will develop to make us an even more accessible social services office. We are a small social office where everyone's competence is valued and where innovative solutions and close collaboration characterize our work. The Children and Families unit has seven employees, one of whom has the role of team leader. The unit handles cases involving children and young people ages 0-21 years and their families. We work based on the BBIC model and our investigations lead to decisions under the Social Services Act (SoL) or LVU. Three of the unit's employees work as a team with intake and investigation. This position is a temporary replacement for an ongoing parental leave through December 30, 2023 with the possibility of extension. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a social worker in intake/investigation, you will receive incoming reports and applications concerning children and young people and conduct preliminary assessments to determine whether to initiate an investigation. You will also conduct risk assessments in your cases. As part of preliminary assessments, you will speak with children, young people, and their parents about their living situation. This also includes consultation with other professionals and community members. It is your responsibility to independently investigate and assess children and young people's need for support based on received concern reports or applications. You will lead the investigation process with the child's best interests in focus, plan interventions in close collaboration with the child, family, and relevant parties, and follow up on open-care services to ensure that goals are achieved and families receive sustainable support. It is of great importance to carefully document and follow up your work in the VIVA system. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or will graduate soon. We would prefer that you have previous experience with authority-based work, preferably within the area of children and young people. Additionally, that you have experience with documentation and one or more evidence-based methods within social services. As a person, we think you are good at building positive relationships, curious, creative, willing to collaborate, goal and results-oriented, contribute to workplace satisfaction, confident in yourself, and have good self-awareness. You take responsibility for your work tasks with the department's and the child's best interests in focus. As a person, you have the ability to prioritize when work demands it or ask for support when needed. It is important that you enjoy collaboration both within your own work group and with other departments. A driver's license is a requirement.
