Responsibilities As a social worker in economic assistance, you're responsible for authority functions according to the Social Services Act. You investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding economic assistance and work to ensure that individuals receive the right support to achieve self-sufficiency. Your duties include receiving and processing applications for maintenance support and other economic assistance, conducting initial visits, investigating individual needs, and making decisions according to applicable legislation. You're also responsible for ongoing case management of maintenance support cases, documentation, daily payments and recovery measures, as well as investigations regarding acute homelessness. The role also includes reporting to various authorities and maintaining close collaboration with colleagues within social services and other internal and external partners, all to create the best possible conditions for the individual. Qualifications We're looking for someone with a degree in social work or other university education that the employer considers equivalent. You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act, excellent communication skills in Swedish both verbally and in writing, as well as good digital competence and experience working in management systems. It's an advantage if you have experience with authority functions within social services, handling economic assistance cases, investigation and decision-making according to the Social Services Act, collaboration with other authorities, and experience from municipal operations.
