About the Workplace Following a recently reorganized structure, Ale has a unified student health service where psychologists, school nurses, and school social work teams are led by a student health director. Together with the schools' other student health professionals, we form an interdisciplinary group that primarily has a health-promoting and preventive mission for the municipality's students. The group consists of just over 20 employees and is an important resource in development issues and coordination of various tasks. We're looking for someone who wants to make a difference and support students' development toward educational goals. A couple of times each month, student health staff meet for common meetings, both in full group and by profession. These occasions are valued both for the opportunity for community and reflection and for working together on development and quality improvement. We are an age and experience-diverse group that enjoys each other's company! Within central student health in Ale, there are currently five psychology positions, as well as one psychologist focused on School Family. The psychologists have several years of experience from school and related activities, and one of our psychologists has a coordination task and supervisor responsibilities as part of their position. In Ale, the school psychologist role is well-established and valued. School psychologists work with preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, and upper secondary schools. Duties We are now looking for an engaged psychologist for a broad and varied role within preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools. With us, you have the opportunity to work close to the activities and contribute to creating the best conditions for children's and students' development, health, and learning. We're looking for someone who wants to be an active and important part of the health-promoting and preventive work. In this role, you contribute your psychological expertise to create increased understanding of preschools' and schools' mission and responsibility toward students, guardians, and external partners. Your work is characterized by a holistic perspective where both pedagogical and psychological aspects are considered. A central part of the position is providing consultation and guidance to staff. Through your support, you contribute to increased knowledge and insight regarding children's and students' different needs and conditions, and strengthen staff's important role in relational work. You also conduct psychological assessments, including for admission to adapted primary school. Together with your colleagues on the student health team, you actively work to remove obstacles to learning. You analyze needs at individual, group, and organizational levels and contribute interventions that make a real difference. You also have the opportunity to conduct training, both independently and together with colleagues. As a school psychologist, you also have an important role in collaboration with the region's primary care and specialist clinics. Currently, there is an additional focus on preschools to strengthen child health. Here you become an important part of close collaboration with preschool staff, special educators, speech-language pathologists, and a child health director – a development effort where you can truly influence and contribute forward. Qualifications You are a licensed psychologist with a commitment to children's and young people's development and want to make a real difference in their daily lives. You are development-oriented, curious, and like to contribute ideas and perspectives that strengthen the activity. With a secure and professional approach, you find it easy to communicate your psychological knowledge to different professional groups within school and to external partners. Meriting qualifications include previous work with children and young people, preferably within preschool and/or school. You have good ability to handle Swedish in speech and writing. You enjoy a role where you can alternate between working independently and together with others, and you see the value in collaboration and cooperation. You have good ability to plan and organize your work and feel comfortable with a broad role where you get to use different working methods and approaches. You are solution-focused, flexible, and like to share your knowledge to contribute to development – both in the team and in the activity as a whole.
