About the HR Department As a school information officer, you will be part of the HR department (G1), which is part of the regimental staff at I 21. The HR department consists of 12 employees with different competencies and specializations, both civilian and military. Our mission is to provide commanders with professional and operationally relevant support – both strategic and operational – through a consultative approach. We work at a high pace, with good team spirit and a shared focus on delivering quality and appreciated leadership support. Main Responsibilities As a school information officer, you have a shared role between work within G1 and service as a soldier in the company. A large part of the job involves meeting students in junior and senior high school through lectures where you tell them about the Swedish Armed Forces and what opportunities are available with us. You carry out assignments together with a colleague and have support from department staff in your daily work. Together you plan and conduct activities and meet your target audience in various settings – for example at schools, training fairs, events, trial activities, and on social media. As part of the position, you will also serve as a soldier in the company as a GSS/K. There you become part of the operation together with officers, specialist officers, and other soldiers. Full-time soldiers work, among other things, as instructors in the training of conscripts together with the company's professional officers. Everyday life is characterized by variety, training, development, and readiness. Who Are You? Qualifications Passed military basic training within the last three years, satisfactory grade/evaluation from equivalent basic training or conscription service Category B driver's license Good computer skills (Windows, Office) Meritorious Experience in information and recruitment activities Good skills in expressing yourself verbally and in writing Good knowledge of/interest in social media About the Position Type of employment: Fixed-term employment as a continuously serving soldier (GSS/K), 100%, beginning with a 6-month probationary period Work location: Sollefteå Start date: By agreement Salary: Individual salary setting Working hours: (40 h/week) Primarily scheduled during daytime on weekdays, but scheduled service at other times may occur. Travel and evening/weekend duty may occur in the position. Other information: The position includes 3 hours/week of physical training during work time. A central basic training program will be conducted to provide knowledge and familiarity with the entire Swedish Armed Forces. Study visits will take place at various military branches. During the year, supplementary training and experience exchange will take place with other school information officers at central follow-up meetings. Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting regiment: In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment was re-established with Jämtland's Field Jaeger Corps, I 21. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique – the re-establishment of infantry in Lower Norrland. I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for Garrison Lower Norrland. At Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and Jämtland Field Jaeger Corps, conscript soldiers are trained for service in the new modern infantry to be able to operate from mountains to sea in a subarctic environment.
