What We Do and Want In Tyresö, you'll encounter a school organization with stable results, established structures, and a clear ambition: high quality and equitable education for all students. The Children's and Education Department manages all educational activities from preschool through municipal adult education, as well as our meal service unit. The administrative office consists of approximately 30 employees working together to ensure a strong foundation with a shared focus on continued development. Within the primary school operational area are 13 municipal primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school programs, and a diversity unit. Approximately 840 employees work within primary school in an organization built for long-term quality and stability. As school principal, you lead the operations in close collaboration with our 15 engaged and competent principals. About the Position As school principal, you take on a well-functioning operation with good results and clear quality work. The assignment is about managing, refining, and further developing—while leading with confidence through a time that requires wise and cost-effective transitions. You combine continuity with development and ensure that operations continue to maintain high quality in a changing world. The role involves overarching strategic responsibility for quality, results, personnel, finances, and equity within primary school. You work at the interface between politics and operations, translating political goals and priorities into concrete development and structure in the organization. The assignment includes: ActivelyContributing to the department's management group with a holistic perspective on the entire educational chain and the municipality's shared direction. Leading and coordinating the entire primary school organization within given financial frameworks. Creating conditions for principals and professionals to succeed by leading, supporting, and following up on their assignments. Developing well-founded decision-making materials for the board and political leadership. Representing the municipality in education matters and driving and participating in dialogue and collaboration with labor organizations at the central level and other external stakeholders. Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Relevant academic education (for example in pedagogy, political science, or another field we consider equivalent) and completion of the state principal program. Experience: Several years of strategic leadership experience from primary school with good results over time. You have experience working at the administrative level and are confident in collaboration with boards and political leadership. Management Experience: Documented overall responsibility for operations, personnel, and finances where you have successfully led through other managers. You are accustomed to developing and leading a coordinated management group focused on trust, shared responsibility, and continuity. Operational Development: Experience driving development and improvement work focused on quality, sustainable finances, and cost-effective transitions. Knowledge: Good and confidence-building knowledge of the Education Act, curricula, and other governing documents, as well as experience translating these into practical operational management. You have good financial understanding (budget, monitoring, and analysis) and insight into a politically governed organization, labor law, and work environment. Meritorious: Completed school principal training and/or the Swedish Defense University's Developmental Leadership (UL) conceptual training.
