Our Operations The Emergency Medical Dispatch Center is responsible for medical prioritization and coordination of ambulance resources within four regions: Uppsala, Västmanland, Sörmland, and Värmland. Together we serve approximately 1,300,000 residents. The centers are located in Uppsala, Västerås, Eskilstuna, and Karlstad. Since 2018, we are also active in Västra Götaland Region. Each call results in a medical assessment, prioritization, and action. Your task is to quickly assess acute conditions/events and through a structured approach identify ambulance care needs. You do this based on your own competence with the help of a unique medical decision support system. Coordination with SOS Alarm, rescue services, police, and other healthcare providers is also part of the work, as is directing patients to the appropriate level of care. Your Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with at least two years of experience. You must be able to provide instructions in acute medical conditions and be able to think differently and embrace new ideas. The position requires that you are attentive, solution-oriented, and have the ability to make decisions based on the information you receive in the call. Since the work is based on the connection between technology and people, you need to have an interest in both aspects. The work tasks require that you master the Swedish language fully in both speech and writing. You also have good knowledge of English. Additional language skills are considered meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. It is an advantage if you have experience from emergency care and/or telephone advisory services.
