The Skellefteå regional care area includes the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, Center for Operating Activities, and primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these units work toward providing good and accessible care. The Medical and Geriatric Clinic in Skellefteå is one of the hospital's largest clinics with approximately 300 employees. Our clinic has inpatient beds organized according to medical and geriatric specialties, and the majority of our patients are admitted through the emergency department. The clinic also houses outpatient services including medical, geriatric, and dialysis clinics, day care, and a physiology laboratory. Within the clinic there is also a research unit, which is unique for a regional hospital. We are now recruiting registered nurses for departments 3, 6, 7, and 26 at our clinic. Department 3 specializes in stroke and gastroenterology, department 6 in cardiology and pulmonary medicine, department 7 in hematology, kidney disease and diabetes, and department 26 in geriatric specialist care.
